I just started re-watching 'Across The Sea'. Right before Mother & Claudia switch to English, Claudia has a drink and there is a very distinct sound effect. Claudia also follows with a kind-of 'what just happened' look. Did that sound effect signify that Mother did something with the drink to change the language they were using? I don't believe that sound effect was used again during the show.
